Job Description

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a hands-on leader responsible for strategy, implementation and oversight of the entire information technology stack across the company. CIO is responsible to provide vision and leadership in the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise-wide technology strategy. The CIO will define and recruit a lead a lean group of IT staff, supported by third-party providers and consultants in the design, initial separation and standup of a new technology stack, feature & configuration development, data management, and network operations of business applications, infrastructure & systems company wide.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Planning

  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
  • Guide internal and external consulting teams in the development of procedures, policy and governance for IT service desk, device management and other employee tools
  • Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets in partnership with finance.
  • Lead the development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Partner with Direct-to-Consumer business leaders in defining operating model for future business growth
  • Recruit and onboard key leaders and or consultants across enterprise and business applications, Infrastructure, and network operations
  • Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Drive evaluation, provide direction and ensure delivery of new enterprise-wide technology strategy, technical architecture & application design for enterprise IT capabilities
  • Align with Broadcast Operations & production in support of live and 24 hour operations
  • Assess and communicate/escalate risks associated with IT investments.
  • Assess and make recommendations on the improvement or re-engineering of the IT organization.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic and operational governance processes as a member of the senior management team.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure (onshore and offshore) that supports the needs of the business.

Acquisition & Deployment:

  • Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.
  • Partner with external consulting resources, internal stake holders and end users to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Define and communicate corporate plans, policies, and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems.
  • Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.

Operational Management:

  • Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
  • Ensure IT system operation adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls.
  • On-call availability as required by executive leadership, other responsibilities per position requirements.
  • Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external entities.
  • Establish lines of control for current and proposed information systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing/directing an IT operation
  • Driven and possesses strong leadership skills.
  • SAAS and Cloud First mindset
  • Exceptional service orientation.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving start-up environment
  • B.S. degree in the field of computer science or business administration and/or 8+ years applicable work experience
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • M&A integration experience preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
  • Knowledge of the various Consumer Products or fast-moving Consumer Products-based business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
  • Experience in managing external consulting teams
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology toward solving business problems.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $350,000 to $400,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
