Job Description
As Chief Information Officer (CIO), North America Personal Lines, you will report directly to the Vice President, Chubb Group and Head of North America Technology and Operations. We are looking to you to d evelop and drive the execution of the North America Personal Lines business technology strategy and future state application roadmap in alignment with business goals and drivers. In this highly visible and transformational executive leadership role, you will be tasked with implementing a digitally enabled business focus on automation and driving a better end to end experience for customers, agents, and brokers. Day to day, that means having the opportunity to serve as a strategic leader, demonstrating change agent capabilities across a multi-national corporation, and pursuing emerging technologies will decouple, modernize, and externalize our legacy policy administration, underwriting and servicing systems as you drive technical and business alignment. That alignment. As we shift to create an engineering culture focused on Cloud first principles, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that our Personal Lines team is more closely aligned and embedded with the business, collaborating across the organization to promote best practices, processes, and procedures throughout technology.
In this role, you will:
Identify, promote, define, and design practical and innovative business technology solutions in line with business technology strategies managing from qualified idea, concept/business requirements through design
Manage and ensure compliance with Personal Lines technology architectural principles (business, application, information and technical) in alignment with enterprise architectural principles
Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills driving and promoting a culture of focus and collaborative execution with integrity; exhibit strong collaboration skills to ensure the goals of Personal Lines technology are met
Challenge conventional practices and status quo with the goal of continually improving technology’s abilities to deliver practical business solutions
Develop future leaders of technology and drive agility, strategy, innovation, and collaboration
Facilitate and provide leadership in the development of strategies to identify and design solutions to business challenges
Promote the most effective and efficient means of delivering technology products and services through reuse, sharing, buying vs. building, etc.
Position the Personal Lines technology group to exploit the evolution of new technologies by providing high level technical consulting and lending expertise to application development teams and senior management
Ensure compliance with corporate technology standards, guidelines, and best practices with regard to information technology, application security and data privacy, data integrity, and architecture
Demonstrate the ability to create original concepts and approaches for testing/refining existing processes as well as focusing on new solutions and processes
Ensure that Personal Lines technology maintains immediate and long-term system stability and quality through product design processes and procedures
Establish and maintain a high level of business trust and confidence in the technology team’s knowledge of and concern for Personal Lines business issues
Identify and collaborate to use critical technology and business unit resources required to support Personal Lines and enterprise technology, and business unit objectives
Maximize Personal Lines return on investment in technology
Ensure solutions are designed in the most cost-effective manner and develop and work within the Personal Lines technology budget
Location:
We operate in a hybrid model with three days’ per week on-site and two days’ per week remote. In this role, you can be based in Jersey City (NJ), New York City (NY), Philadelphia (PA), or Simsbury (CT). Relocation assistance is available for this role.
Qualifications
Deep expertise driving technology transformation to support Property and Casualty Personal Lines Insurance business product portfolio, inclusive of Home, Auto Contents, Watercraft, and Excess
Demonstrate deep expertise in contemporary technology such as cloud and digital with a successful track record implementing and managing an Agile-based organization while applying DevOps practices and strategies
Showcase your in-depth knowledge of architecture and engineering to coincide with your outstanding planning, analytical, and conceptual skills
Hands-on experience in technology process management with a keen ability to focus and collaboratively execute with proven experience integrating technology, people, and processes
Competency and flexibility in understanding diverse and complex business and technical problems, customer requirements, and functional/business objectives while developing efficient and effective solutions
Demonstrated leadership style that communicates, instills confidence, and inspires and motivates others to contribute to and support the vision, diversity initiatives, and strategies of Personal Lines technology, enterprise technology, and the entire corporation
Superior organizational development skills and adept at effectively balancing the internal workforce with outside consultants and services to provide the appropriate speed-of-service and quality-of-output
Ability to stimulate creativity and lead change and transformational business initiatives. Included is the ability to navigate in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment
Excellent communicator, highly effective in stakeholder engagement. This will include strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

In Jersey City, NJ the pay range for the role is $165,000 to $280,500. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. This range is specific to Jersey City, NJ and may not be applicable to other locations.
