Join our prominent client, a global leader in the minerals industry, providing impactful technical, environmental, and scientific solutions. With a sharp focus on innovation, they drive progress across various industrial sectors, including water treatment, building materials, oil and gas, and agriculture.
The Project Engineer role is based at our client's headquarters in the Dallas Fort Worth region of Texas and involves extensive travel to various sites across North America. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer supports Project Managers in coordinating and executing technical aspects of capital expenditure projects from inception to commissioning. This includes handling diverse engineering disciplines and ensuring adherence to safety policies and best practices.
Key responsibilities encompass site information collection, conceptual design development, coordination of project engineering activities, and the promotion of safety and quality standards throughout the organization's business segments.
Role and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Handle documentation for cost estimation, tendering, and technical evaluation, and provide guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Plays a key role in CAPEX projects of various sizes.
- Gather and analyze existing site information, including drawings and P&ID.
- Prepares conceptual designs, preliminary flow sheets, and GA drawings.
- Conduct site surveys, 3D scans, and measurements when necessary.
Key Attributes:
- Knowledge of process equipment and bulk material handling
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, have the confidence to speak with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake frequent travel and extended stays at project-related work sites.
- At least 2+ years progressive experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Capable of working in challenging work environments i.e.. confined spaces, high temperatures and other changing conditions.
- Possess a change and innovative mindset.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering field is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience of drafting, CAD software & ability to perform process and mass flow calculations.
