Location: Hattiesburg, MS
Opportunity
As a member of the Continuous Improvement team, you will lead and assist the Hattiesburg operations teams to drive improvement initiatives in both facilities by leading, training, and developing teams using KOS and Lean principle tools. Activities will include leading and facilitating improvement teams from various areas of the organization, conducting lean training, and driving implementation of action plans focused on achieving operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities and coordinate resources to implement projects required to achieve annual cost reduction objectives.
- Other projects/priorities as requested by your supervisor.
- Work with Quality to also develop and document standard methodologies to solve problems and find root causes; create/update improvement programs and training materials as needed.
- Provide input to management toward developing strategies, action planning, and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead/Manage process improvement initiatives: analyze current situation, understand desired state and performance gaps, understand root causes and propose solutions, test and execute solutions, monitor results and sustain.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to implement programs: estimate resource requirements and implementation costs, prepare approval presentations and documents.
- Manage 5S audit program and helps to facility/drive accountability for generating and completing action items from audits.
- Mentor and assist associates with implementation of the Kohler Operating System including continuous improvement tools and philosophies (5S, Standard Work, 6 sigma, work area design, Glass Walls, Layered Audits, Gemba Walks, etc.).
- Ensure adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 2 or more years of experience working with manufacturing processes with demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, facilitate and coach
- Industrial Engineering degree preferred
- Broad knowledge and application experience with project management, process improvement, structured problem solving, TQM tools and methods
- Green Belt certification desired
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this position is $81,050 - $102,400. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
