Job Description
Location- Bethesda, MD (hybrid, 1-2 days in the office


Join 3E's growing data team of passionate Chemists, Toxicologists and Food Scientists to help solve interesting substance identification, scientific & regulatory data challenges. You will be working with multi-national team of experts on chemical regulations from across the world and help some of the biggest names in chemical, manufacturing and retail industries stay in compliance and make the world a safer place. 


We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Chemical Data Analyst. You will play a pivotal role in applying your strong understanding of Chemistry principles to interpret global regulations and ensure compliance with various standards. This is a highly collaborative role working with cross-functional teams to support the production and delivery of regulatory and scientific content for the 3E family of products.


Responsibilities:


  • You will transform substance and regulatory requirements to actionable data.
  • You will contribute scientific expertise to consulting work related to Cosmetics & Food Contact projects.
  • You will document processes in compliance with ISO 9001 quality management system. 
  • You will work on identifying chemical substances by name, structure, properties etc.
  • You will research and update Chemical family (i.e., related substances) datasets. 
  • You will apply Chemistry knowledge to interpret global regulations.
  • You will be responsible for researching and updating Chemical family datasets, staying up to date with the latest developments in chemical classifications as per the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and its variants across different regions. (Ex: Japan, European Union etc.) 
  • You will support production and delivery of regulatory & scientific content to 3E’s family of products and contribute expertise to help client support client engagement activities.


Qualifications:


  • Experience with ChemDraw, SciFinder or other similar software’s 
  • Strong foundation in organic chemistry including chemical nomenclature & chemical structure interpretation. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to Quality/Continuous Improvement. 
  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong scientific acumen to make decisions regarding identity of substances
