Job Description
Summary


The CFO will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. To be successful in this role, the incumbent must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, must be detail oriented, and forward thinking. We are looking for a candidate with strong multi-state, tax and payroll experience as well as WIP schedule experience.


Duties and Responsibilities

Pay Range: $120,000 to $160, 000 annual salary.


Essential Duties:


  • Experience with subcontractor projects.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects.
  • Maintain company financial KPIs, forecasting, WIP schedules
  • Assure corporate income tax compliance to assure the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
  • Experience with budgets, forecasting reports and raising capital for line of credit.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Review all contracts for finance terms and conditions and make recommendations on feasibility of terms.
  • Additional duties will be assigned on an as-needed basis.
  • Respond to COO and CEO requests with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Oversee the activities of the finance department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management and business unit reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits; and annual and monthly budgets.
  • Manage Finance department and office staff. Recruit, train, mentor and ensure the success of direct reports and Project Management team
  • Manage relationship with CPA, Banking, Bonding, and other LOBs as necessary.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner. Embody KR Wolfe QUEST values in all activities and behavior.
  • Experience with billing, invoicing, AIA billing and prevailing wage.
  • Manage company certifications by completing necessary filings and recertification processes including, but not limited to: System for Award Management (SAM), Small Business Administration (SBE, SLBE), Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE, WOSB), Contractors Licenses, Duns and Bradstreet (D&B), and Government Services Administration Contract (GSA).


Knowledge, Skills, Ability, And Experience Required

Education and Experience


  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • 5-10 years’ progressive experience in a mid to senior level finance or accounting position.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business with a strong Accounting focus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in Construction and Government contracts.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with multi-state taxes and multi-state payroll is a must.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to create and maintain accounting systems for specialized business units.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.


Language Skills


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or team members.


Mathematical Skills


Ability to work with complex mathematical. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


Reasoning Ability


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Computer Skills


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of QuickBooks Pro; Contact Management systems; Database software; Spreadsheet software; and Word Processing software. Must be able to quickly learn new programs and be able to train staff and peers on such.


PRE-REQUISITE Credentialing, Vaccine, and Training Requirements


Employees are required to have the following credentials, vaccines, and training prior to being placed in this position:

Physical Demands and Work Environment


Physical Demands


This position requires the worker to sit at and navigate a computer workstation at least half of the workday. The other portion of the workday may include moving throughout the office, occasional light lifting, bending, and reaching.


Visual Acuity


The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.


Working Conditions


The primary working environment is an indoor office setting. From time-to-time it may be necessary to travel. Employees working in hazardous conditions and areas are required to comply with all applicable safety provisions and to use PPE.
