Category Manager – Packaging Jobs

Reporting to the Center of Excellence (COE) Packaging Director of Strategic Sourcing, this position is responsible for the development and optimization of Honeywell's global strategic sourcing strategy for Packaging materials and supports all Strategic Business Groups (SBG’s). This position will also be responsible for the procurement of Packaging material in alignment with business leadership for assigned categories as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have global responsibility for driving competitive category strategies to achieve lowest total cost and reduce working capital via negotiation planning and execution, high growth region sourcing, value engineering and/or sole source elimination. You will manage supplier performance to support your categories, stay up to date on current and forecasted market conditions, and ensure supply continuity for the business. You will be responsible for managing several projects in a dynamic environment. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, including but not limited to export and import regulations.
Key Responsibilities

• Negotiate LTA and MSA with key strategic suppliers and revise existing agreements in place to make sure such agreements are aligned with Honeywell guidelines
• Align with internal stakeholders including but not limited to Site Sales, Marketing, Technology, Business, Operations, Finance, Quality, and other Honeywell businesses
• Manage global category and commodity strategies including spend analysis, benchmarking, cost, market analysis and economic trends
• Partner with SBG sourcing partners and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and support of category strategy creation and execution
• Ensure relationship development and management with key packaging suppliers
• Manage the consolidation of tail spend suppliers across the company
• Manage supplier selection, RFQ and RFI process, negotiation, contracting and supplier performance processes for your categories
• Execute the annual operating plan through year-over-year improvements in productivity, working capital, quality, delivery, and supply continuity
• Efficient execution of strategies to align with business growth and New Product Introductions
• Resolve chronic supply issues by identifying root cause and work on an action plan
• Improve working capital through payment term extensions, payment cycle optimization, vendor managed inventory and lead time reductions

YOU MUST HAVE

• Ability to travel 25% of the time (domestically and internationally)
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum 8 years of work experience in strategic sourcing or a packaging related role
• Bachelor’s Degree

• Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Tools
• Well-developed problem solving and decision making abilities
• Master’s degree
• Team leader experience in supply management/sourcing/procurement/business
• Project management and/or contract management experience
• Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management
• Working and/or leading in site team environments
• Five or more years work experience in sourcing packaging materials
• Demonstrated Business and financial acumen
