ECV is a black-owned firm with a diverse team who is seeking an experienced Catchup/Cleanup Bookkeeper to join our internal team as a part-time contractor with room to grow into a full-time contractor position.

We are seeking a Catchup/Cleanup Bookkeeper who is able to self-manage, work as a team player and contribute to the overall growth, development and success of the organization.
This individual will be responsible for:
- Assist the Accounting Client Project Manager with onboarding, obtaining platform access, and managing bookkeeping deliverables for clients in the Accounting Client Pipeline.
- Serve as one of the main points of contact, along with the Accounting Client Project Manager, for clients within the Accounting Client Pipeline.
- Reviewing clients' books prepared internally for quality, potential future work needed, and monitoring of bookkeeping progress and deadlines.
- Preparing bookkeeping review videos/participating in books review calls with clients.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm and troubleshoot bookkeeping issues/questions for clients.
- Assist the Accounting Client Project Manager with onboarding new clients.
- Review books prepared internally by the Accounting Team for Quality Control.
- Brainstorm and troubleshoot bookkeeping issues/questions with Accounting Team member(s).
- Assist and obtain client platform and bank accesses needed for bookkeeping.
- Work closely with various team members to provide feedback on current systems and workflows.
- Serve as one of the main points of contact, along with the Accounting Client Project Manager, for clients within the Accounting Client Pipeline.
- Monitor Bookkeeper’s deadlines and goals and provide support to meet those deadlines and goals in conjunction with the Accounting Client Project Manager.
- Present excellent customer-service skills to clients.
- Manage digital filing systems, update client records, and organize documents.
- Monitor bookkeeper's progress on new engagements and provide support to keep them moving.
- Appropriately handle confidential employer and client information.
- Assign tasks to bookkeepers to get started on new bookkeeping engagements.
- Review Query Sheets assigned for client review to make sure what's being asked is easily understood.
- Once we give them access, they can get it done. They are responsive and will provide lists of (clear) questions they have and items they need.
- Review prospective clients' books for quality of books, potential work needed, and assistance with pricing the engagement.
- Assign tasks to clients and review current tasks for relevancy.
- Prepare bookkeeping review videos for and review calls with clients.
- Have calls with clients, as needed, to work through Query Sheets, obtain new account accesses, etc.
Qualifications
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
- QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Xero (*OR willingness and ability to get certified within 120 days on your own time)
- Able to be flexible in schedule, potentially working nights, weekends, and extended hours as agreed upon.
- Familiarity with a project management system, online collaboration, and experience using it with busy teams.
- Able to manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Highly organized and able to multitask and work well with fast-paced directions and instructions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Suite (Docs, Gmail, and Sheets), cloud services, and other technology tools.
- Strong customer service and presentation skills.
- 3+ years of experience in full cycle bookkeeping including cleanups and catchups
- Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, tasks, and information.
- Team player with an eye for detail.
- BA/BS degree or Certificate Programs/Courses in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or related field.
