Job Description
Our client, a producer and retailer of high quality cannabis genetics cultivator and retailer is seeking a Nursery Account Executive to join their team in Southern California. This is a remote position that will take you on the road to visit cannabis companies throughout the region including San Bernadino and Riverside Counties (the Inland Empire), Coachella Valley, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, SLO, and as far north as Monterey, Fresno, and Salinas.

The Account Executive for Southern California will own the primary relationship between the company and leading cultivators who sell into the largest cannabis market in the world. This includes large indoor and Tier II greenhouse/mixed light growers. This role requires the candidate to be on the road, meeting with customers and prospects in their facilities up to several days per week. Because the territory stretches from San Diego to Santa Barbara (and further, if the candidate has contacts in Fresno, Modesto, Monterey, etc.), the successful candidate must enjoy the challenges of being a road warrior, capable of managing accounts from the road


Job Responsibilities:


  • Providing strategic guidance and white glove service to these accounts
  • Learning the unique clonal propagation process in order to educate and persuade growers about our approach and how it can help transform their cultivation practices and improve the economics of their businesses
  • Taking over and growing existing SoCal cultivator relationships, which already include many large, lucrative accounts
  • Covering a large territory
  • Acquiring and managing prospect data, using Salesforce along with the DCC website and other source material
  • Researching, strategizing, prospecting, and closing new customer accounts
  • Achieving quarterly sales targets


Education & Required Skills:


  • 3+ years of sales and/or customer service
  • Working knowledge of computer/web software, including CRM (Salesforce), Distru, Asana, Slack, MS Office Suite and Email
  • Experience selling cannabis is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: You are able to produce effective presentations
  • Goal Oriented - You take on new challenges and work hard to achieve ambitious goals
  • Undergrad degree preferred
  • Time-management - You must excel at prioritization and multi-tasking skills; ability to quickly adapt to an often-changing and rapid-paced work environment

  • A deep interest in cannabis, genetics and cultivation
  • Independent and Team Player - Because this role is remote, the successful candidate must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated and immune to home office distraction. You must also put in the extra effort to build relationships with their colleagues and counterparts with whom you’ll work remotely every day.
  • Experience calling on commercial cultivation (vs. selling to retail dispensaries) is preferred


Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 + 2% Commission (Expected $100 - $120K)
