The Position:
The Business Systems Analyst – Supply Chain is responsible for collaborating between all Great Dane departments, IT teams, external consultants, and vendors to translate business requirements into system functionality and solutions. The Business Analyst is based in either our Chicago or Savannah headquarters, but remote work is a possibility. Reporting to the Enterprise Applications Manager, the position will ensure quality systems through comprehensive testing, and strive to continuously improve business process efficiency using technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Acquire new systems knowledge through networking, independent research, reading and formal training.
- Gather, understand and document business objectives, specifications and requirements.
- Disseminate information in a timely manner within the team and across functions or teams.
- Seek out opportunities for business process improvement with a focus on improved use of system functionality and data integrity.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Document business processes, requirements and functional designs, and understand usability.
- Identify and understand issues that may impact day-to-day operations and/or projects and work with business users on evaluating solutions. Communicate status, solutions and concerns.
- Facilitate end user support for key application and data areas.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the business or function.
- Conduct investigational analysis and evaluation to determine project or application feasibility.
- Define and articulate business rules required for data accuracy and consistency.
- Develop training materials and job aids to train others as appropriate on specific area of business or systems expertise.
- Test and maintain computer programs and systems.
QUALIFICATION
Requirements:
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) and Repetitive Process Automation tools (Orchestrator) a plus.
- Ability to work alone and in a team setting, often in a remote capacity.
- Experience with process/data mapping.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Operations Management preferred.
- Demonstrated work ethic that emphasizes customer focus, quality and continuous improvement.
- Exposure with configuring one or more ERP system, with JD Edwards preferred.
- Strong business acumen in more than one function, specifically in Purchasing, Sales Order Management, MPS/MRP, Inventory Management and Transportation Management. Understanding of Service and Warranty is a bonus.
- Must have good analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills. Must be detailed oriented
- Strong communication skills (verbal/written/listening). Must demonstrate patience with end users.
- The ability to understand and translate complex concepts across business functions into requirements specifications for development.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in applying information systems solutions to business challenges required.
- Knowledge of application development processes, SDLC preferred.
- Experience in system testing, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and user training.
- Experience as a business analyst on large projects or multiple concurrent small projects is required, specifically ERP implementation and support experience.
- Strong sense of urgency and follow-up skills.

- Must be able to travel domestically up to 25%.
- Occasional exposure to noises or heat during on-site visit to the plants and branches.
- Must be willing to work occasional nights and/or weekends as project commitments dictate.
