Kemper is seeking an experienced technical Sr. Business Systems Analyst in our IT department. This role is responsible for P&C applications. Solve complex, cross organizational business opportunities by using your experience in analyzing requirements, designing technical solutions, and recommending system controls and procedures. Use your communication, meeting facilitation, analysis, and problem-solving skills to understand and respond to user needs in rapidly changing business environments. Drive analysis of business proposals, ensure solutions achieve desired business results and lead change management activities. Accountable for medium to large scale projects and coordinate production support activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform systems analysis and development of technical design documents.
• Liaison with business for IT portfolio coordination.
• Lead complex change management activities; including: a. Training (e.g., training plans and materials, training sessions). b. Process improvements and efficiencies c. Documentation support (e.g., operational procedures, troubleshooting guides). d. Production readiness activities (e.g., war room, deployment support and checkout, customer support).
• Outline detailed application testing and support user acceptance testing.
• Research and develop functional design documents .
• Serve as a subject matter expert within a specific scope.
• Serve as an experienced Business Systems Analyst with a depth of expertise.

• Lead analysis, design, implementation, and testing of configuration.
• Coordinate production activities such as: a. Triage, troubleshooting b. Data analysis (e.g., SQL / data analysis) c. Product and compliance requests
• Performs procedural duties within standardized practices, where applicable.
• Support high level estimation and design during Ideation.
• Complies with and supports all corporate, department and security policies and procedures.
• Mentors BSA group to improve overall level of performance.
• Provide oversight of small work requests.
• Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities
• Maintains knowledge of business functionality and technical platforms as business climate and technology platforms evolve.

Qualifications:

• Property and Casualty insurance industry experience is a plus.
• 5-7 years of business system analyst experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of systems development lifecycle activities
• Must be proficient with business analysis including creation of workflows, documenting of use cases and business requirements documentation, test cases and data analysis.
• Requires strong design experience – including functional requirements documentation, test cases, requirements coverage.
• Strong testing and production support background is needed.
• Education equivalent to a college degree in an information technology related or business administration related discipline, supplemented by insurance or computer-related courses/knowledge, or the equivalent in related work experience.

• This position is a remote role and can work from a US based home.

The range for this position is $68,900 to $117,900.When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
