Position Summary
The Business Process Analyst role was created to support strategic improvement objectives for Lending and Operations business partners. Reporting to the Innovative Programs Manager, the incumbent will partner with cross-functional teams to streamline business processes across the organization, focusing on lending operations (originations through servicing). This role will be responsible for the overall process documentation that involves 'thinking processes' to draw inferences from process details and workflows, link inferences to the big picture and identify process improvements and/or automation. This role will manage and execute process improvement initiatives leveraging problem solving, process improvement, and project management skills. The position requires a results-focused, disciplined, and detail-oriented team member to deliver against aggressive timelines. You will need to be creative, flexible, and diplomatic through the project lifecycle to deliver the transformation agenda needed to improve our operations functions.
Desired skills and knowledge for this position include the ability to communicate effectively, understand the linkages between strategic objectives and process improvements, and an aptitude to influence stakeholders in order to deliver process improvement projects. The core responsibilities of this newly formed role is to facilitate formal process improvements and create and manage performance metrics. This role will interact with every team within the Lending and Operations business units.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Facilitate, lead, and/or participate in meetings at the business, operational, and project levels
  • Effectively communicate to provide regular updates to product stakeholders, including presentations, executive summaries, and recommendations/decisions
  • Partner with stakeholders across Lending and Operations business units to drive improvement strategies that will have sustained cost savings at the organizational level. This will include working with these teams, among others: Originations, Closing, Funding, Legal, Servicing, Portfolio Management
  • Utilize standard process mapping and other tools to provide required project documentation such as process maps, data analysis, and written procedures or job aides
  • Work with cross-functional teams to diagnose workflow impediments and provide expert counsel on applicable Lean tools to eliminate waste
  • Lead a series of projects and initiatives by executing data and process analysis, identifying issues, formulating actionable recommendations and executing process changes to deliver operational benefits
  • Think strategically and tactically, to design and implement process improvements with the flexibility to adjust to new innovations, regulations, and priorities
Professional Skills, Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business or finance. Education level will be considered on a holistic basis considering both education and work experience
  • Exceptional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • 2+ years in process improvement and Lean initiatives
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes within a growing organization and work under pressure while managing priorities appropriately.
  • 2+ years in process improvement and is the main responsibility in your current role
  • Financial services industry knowledge is a plus.
Preferred:
  • Experience leading SIPOC and Value Stream Mapping exercises
  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt preferred
