The Business Intelligence Specialist position supports CHP’s business intelligence work across the organization with a focus on collecting, monitoring, and managing data such that it can be used to provide actionable insights and inform organizational priorities. The position works collaboratively with CHP’s Strategic Operations department to collect and leverage both quantitative and qualitative data, including, but not limited to, sustainability data, community-level assessments, resident/client surveys, production data, and outcome measures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Community Assessments & Surveying:
- Assist with ad hoc surveying including survey development, set-up, deployment, information gathering, and reporting.
- Identify an area’s amenities and resources, determine where there are gaps, and document via a Needs and Resources Assessment, as requested.
- Pull and analyze community-level reports and data from a variety of publicly available and partner-provided data sources.
- Assist with yearly Resident Surveying set-up, deployment, information gathering, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Corporate Data and Information Management:
- Assist with Impact Report data collection and reporting.
- Assist with the collection of yearly production data from all lines of business.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of dashboards and reports to drive data-driven decision-making
- Collect, maintain, and report production data for multiple reporting requirements to include NeighborWorks America, SAHF, Fahe, and HPN.
Sustainability Monitoring:
- Monitor CHP’s solar provider websites to identify irregularities or equipment issues, and alert Sustainability Program Director for maintenance needs.
- Monitor solar data for greenhouse gas tracking and SREC Trade.
- Monitor Energy Star Portfolio Manager and Yardi Pulse Insights systems for irregularities in energy and/or water usage and alert proper departments for needed action or consideration.
- Assist with fleet vehicle fuel tracking.
- Perform other monitoring and data verification duties as identified by the Sustainability Programs Director.
- Support CHP’s commitment to the Department of Energy’s Better Climate Challenge through the management of a sustainability database that records all building/facility information needed to analyze CHP’s decarbonization efforts.

- Knowledge of data visualization tools and best practices
Education and/or Experience
- 2-3 years experience in research and or analysis
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related applications.
- Specific data visualization software experience required
- HS Diploma or GED Required
Working hours may vary, but customary business hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, with a one-hour lunch break. This position may work up to five days a week from home/remote with prior supervisor approval.
