Business Intelligence Developer Jobs

We are looking for a dynamic Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing Analytics and Information Management (AIM) consulting practice. You will be part of a team of consultants that are focused on delivering robust data solutions to our clients.

Your primary focus will be leveraging data analysis and visualization to help solve our client’s most pressing business challenges. You will do this by supporting the delivery of highly intuitive enterprise analytical solutions with leading business intelligence technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, and others. You will work directly with clients to identify key business requirements and challenges to help drive solution design and support in the necessary development efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with client stakeholders and business users to identify and understand business needs and challenges
• Serve as the conduit between the client business stakeholders and the data engineering team
• Extract and analyze data to identify patterns and trends, with the subsequent ability to synthesize the data into information consumable by end users
• Perform stakeholder interviews to understand business processes and gather requirements on data needs
• Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
• Participate and execute design, implementation, and maintenance of Business Intelligence software and systems, including integration with data warehousing platforms
• Research and understand business domain areas and industry verticals to help drive best practices and usage of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) within solutions developed
• Perform data analysis to support requirements gathering and documentation
• Evaluate and demonstrate potential technology solutions to meet overarching business needs and best fit for identified use cases
• Work in complex environments while performing multiple activities on concurrent development projects and existing production processes
• Create interactive dashboards with data visualization, typography, and KPIs using industry best techniques.
• Conduct testing of solutions developed and assist in validating outputs, troubleshooting, and supporting business users of solutions
• Support in the running of white-boarding sessions, workshops, design sessions, and project meetings as needed

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work within time constraints and manage multiple tasks against critical deadlines
• Experience documenting test scripts and technical solution documentation
• 2+ years of experience with 1 or more Database tool such as Snowflake, Azure, or others.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of audiences
• Exposure to dimensional data modeling techniques and data warehousing methodologies
• Ability to understand and script SQL
• Experience with semantic layer design and best practices
• 2+ years of experience developing and administering with 1 or more industry leading Business Intelligence tool such as Tableau or Power BI
• Ability to perform complex problem solving and apply critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and inductive reasoning to identify solutions
• Experience gathering, translating, and documenting business requirements
• Exposure to foundational Data Management practices (Master Data Management, Data Governance, and Data Integration)
• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or foreign degree equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, and data visualization
• Ability to design and wireframe dashboard and reporting mockups
