Amazon Freight is a fast-growing startup at Amazon and we are looking for passionate owners to shape the direction of the business. Amazon Freight blends advanced technology with a network of 50,000+ Amazon trailers, building on the world class network and freight services currently used to operate Amazon’s own freight movements. We are looking for complex problem solvers with strong technical skills, who are able to build analytics solutions that guide Amazon Freight's strategy and product roadmap.


This position requires high judgment, excellent analytical skills and a creative mind to invent solutions that improve the customer experience. It offers broad exposure to various business, operational, financial, product and technical teams across Amazon Freight.

Key job responsibilities


  • Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders while proactively identifying new areas of opportunity to drive further improvements
  • Work backwards from your end-customer to define, design, and execute each work item with an emphasis on improved metrics, productivity, and efficiency
  • Generate insightful analysis, reporting, and data visualizations to answer critical business questions, proactively identify notable trends, and communicate business performance
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Apply expertise in data mining and modeling leveraging multiple data sources to uncover unique insights, identify key performance drivers, and build predictive models

Basic Qualifications


  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
  • 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
  • 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
