The In-stock Business Analyst (BA) will work cross-functionally to develop and launch tools to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the Fresh In-stock team. This role will partner with Business Intelligence Engineers, In-stock Managers, Operations and Category Program Managers, Product Managers, and Functional Leads to build a comprehensive suite of tools, dashboards and processes for the In-stock team to 1) Improve ability to react quickly to instock variability 2) Improve forward looking visibility to enable proactive action, and 3) Improve team morale by providing easier access to data.


Key job responsibilities


Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To


  • Mine insights and use data to tell compelling business stories across topics such as supply chain, selection, customer demand insights, CX etc
  • Learn new BI, Retail, and Ops systems such that you can meaningfully support process innovation using automation techniques
  • Design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards on the key drivers of our business
  • Support in feature prioritization by engaging stakeholders in constructive dialogues, simplifying ambiguous business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data
  • Flex technical and business acumen to drive higher fidelity business decisions and operational excellence
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable, automated processes for data extraction, processing, and analysis


Basic Qualifications


  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with SQL
  • 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications


  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling
  • Experience with at least one statistical or scripting language such as SAS/R/Python
  • Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
  • Prior experience in Retail, technology or direct-to-consumer is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
