General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Branded Technologies Data Manager will be a significant support person for the Branded Technology Research and Development team and together their efforts will provide the Branded Technology Team with appropriate field trial data in support of existing and new product sales, training, and regulatory submissions.
The Branded Technologies Data Manager will manage data compilation, processing, analysis, and summarization from the field, greenhouse, and lab trials for marketing materials and regulatory packets. Leading a small team, the Branded Technology Data Manager will make the data and trial summaries ready for marketing and regulatory while assuring data quality, integrity, and freedom to operate. Additionally, the Data Manager will be a key member of the Research and Development team assisting as needed in field trial design, placement, data collection, and technical training including the opportunity to lead research and development of drift control and deposition adjuvant trials at the wind tunnel facilities. Up to 10% overnight and same-day travel to manage remote teams, attend meetings or field days, provide training, and visit field trials. Some travel could be replaced by virtual meetings over time once relationships are established.
The position is remote with a preference for key agricultural areas within the Wilbur-Ellis footprint roughly from the west coast into the great lakes region and down to Texas.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
- Bachelor of Science in data management or a technical agricultural field and 5 plus years of experience required
- Successful record of managing people, assisting reports in the development of goals and personal skills
- Extensive experience using agricultural statistics methodology to analyze and summarize trials
- Extensive experience with crop protection products, nutrition products, and adjuvants in a wide range of crops and cropping systems is preferred
- Ability to assist in developing trial protocols that provide useful, quality results
- Direct experience designing, placing, conducting, evaluating, analyzing, and summarizing field, greenhouse, and laboratory trials desired
- Experience working cross-functionally in a matrix organization to hand off and steward agricultural trial results through regulatory, marketing, and sales teams to achieve new product registrations, successful product launches, and increased product sales.
- Direct experience managing a team of data analysts or research technicians desired
- Direct experience managing large amounts of agricultural data
- Proven record performing and managing agricultural data analysis and summarization for sales marketing materials and regulatory packets
- A deep understanding of chemical drift control issues and remedies is preferred
- Experience with ARM trial and data management software desired

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
- The ability to lead the research and development of drift control and deposition adjuvant trials at wind tunnels is preferred
- Assist in developing training and educational tools for field salespeople
- Lead and assist Data Team in compiling, analyzing, processing, summarizing, and managing trial results
- Guide trial auditing processes and data risk management procedures
- Assist Branded Technology Research and Development Director and team in developing, placing, evaluating, analyzing, and summarizing trials and results
- Lead handoff and stewardship of data through regulatory, marketing, and sales processes
- Manage direct reports via goal setting, assigning activities throughout the year, and assuring administrative and daily workflow activities are completed
- Provide formal and informal training to field salespeople
- Assure receipt of and compilation of data in ARM software database from internal researchers, CROs, and the sales organization
- Work collaboratively with R&D and Portfolio Managers on the interpretation, summarization, and presentation of trial results for sales, regulatory, and product commercialization decisions

Key Relationships:
- Work closely with Regulatory Team and Formulation Chemists and Branded Territory Managers
- Assist to provide product and technical training to national and field sales as needed
- Work closely with Branded Technology Portfolio Managers for Specialty Actives, Adjuvants, Nutrition, and Pro Markets
- Support national and regional Research & Development teams: Director Agronomic Solutions, National Technical Managers, Regional Field Development Specialists, and National Field Development Manager
Compensation and Benefits:
- In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position is $130,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
