Big Data Production Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Linux Admin with Hadoop Platform Engineering 4+ years hands-on experience in Linux Administration and Hadoop Platform Engineering.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions
• Perform continuous integration to ensure that every step of a data pipeline is testable and automated
• Be accountable for your work
• Propose and implement technical solutions and mentor colleagues
• Been part of the team with high-performance, scalable data pipelines to transform large volumes of data into information for operational and financial decision making
• Understand and anticipate business needs and address issues reported by customers

Skills: Required Skills/Experience:

• Hands-on experience in building Python scripts for automation of systems monitoring
• Experience of Big Data, Hadoop clustering technology application development and troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems, and UNIX/Linux environments
• Strong Hands-on experience in Linux (RHEL) Systems Administration
• Experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, Druid, Scala and AWS
• Hands-on OS Admin experience Installation, Monitoring, Troubleshooting and automation
• Prior experience in technical operations and additional exposure to tool/product development.
• The ability to work with large-scale distributed systems and excellent problem solving and organizational skills
• Hands-on experience in building Bash, Perl scripts for automation of systems monitoring
• Knowledge of software engineering: processes, tools, methods
• A solid foundation in data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and modern software engineering practices
• The expertise to manipulate data through query languages with data concepts such as joins, aggregation, projection, and explosion
• Experience with data processing/ETL tools and exposure to large-scale systems development projects.
• Experience using UNIX/Linux systems
• Excellent design, coding, debugging and testing skills
• Computer Science degree or relevant experience
