What success looks like in this role:
This technology consultant provides administration support for the Department’s mission-critical Unisys BIS (formerly known as MAPPER) applications on ClearPath Dorado and Windows. In this role, the administrator sets up and maintains Business Information Server software, controls the design and organization of the database, oversees the activities of users, and ensures the security of the system.
Responsibilities:
- Install BIS system software upgrades and patches.
- Monitor system integrity and respond to alerts/Incidents and develops new processes to monitor the systems performance.
- Supports the development of applications by registering scripts, setting up and maintaining cabinets and drawers, and calculating the size of the database.
- Act as a Liaison between application developers and BIS Engineering and entering incidents to BIS Engineering as anomalies and problems arise.
- Performs advanced administration tasks such as setting up network connections and managing memory usage.
- Participate in Disaster Recover Exercises.
- Maintain legacy MAPPER Scripts (ACCREQ, ADMIN, SOX, TAPLIB, EXCEL, MR*, etc.)
- Work with the OS2200 Systems group for 2200 MAPPER Upgrades.
- Provide 24/7 support 365 days per year.

Requirements:
- Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter and show initiative. Need to be able to engage with others to work on projects and drive issues and projects to closure.
- Basic knowledge of ECL.
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with COOLICE/GATETOOL and IIS knowledge.
- US work permit (Residency, Citizenship)
- MAPPER run development experience.
- Working Knowledge of Windows Servers and use of system processes (Windows Event Viewer, Services, Users, REGEDIT, Windows Scheduler) along with applications like WINSCP and WINZIP. Working knowledge of basic DOS commands.
- Experience with BIS/2200 and BIS/Windows
- A working understanding of Networking and use of tools to troubleshoot issues (TELENT, PING, NSLOOKUP, etc.)
- ORACLE skill using Net Configuration Assistant and SQL Developer.
- BIS Administration/Coordination experience with expertise using MapAdmin and PCMA.
- Possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English
- Must be located within continental US (Remote)
