Synergy is seeking a Windows System Administrator, responsible for providing system administration, application patching/upgrades, and security remediation, executing approved scripts, maintaining Windows environment and monitoring system performance.
:

Manages and administers operating systems installed on physical and virtual assets supporting operating systems. Performs installations, maintenance, support, administration, troubleshooting, configuration, and other system/server administrative activities. Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

  • Install and configure new hardware and software.
  • Create, update, and manage the hardware, software, and license asset inventory.
  • Create, update, and maintain all documentation related to administration of hardware and software assets.
  • Applies operating system updates, patches and configuration changes.
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments and evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Maintains servers and other computer devices.
  • Perform monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Schedules, applies, communicates, tests, troubleshoots, reports and supports system patch and security settings levels within the server infrastructure.
  • Monitors server systems to ensure the latest operating system patches, security updates and security settings are within operational standards.
  • Test and debug outages and issue
  • Provides second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems, provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process, and provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Perform scripting to automate services and refine procedures.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Provide capacity planning support.
  • Perform management and administration of operating systems installed on physical and virtual assets.
  • Perform management and administration of software products.
  • Analyzes system logs and identifies potential issues.
  • Performs root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents and coordinates implementation.
  • Monitor system load, response time and available storage space.
  • Manage user account information to include password reset.
  • Manage, support, and perform continuous monitoring scanning of assets.
  • Maintain system configuration files.
  • Perform day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for system problems.
  • Perform data backups and restoration of files.
  • Provide user/group administration.
  • Determine when new patches/updates are available support appropriate change management processes to apply those patches/updates.
  • Ghost/image servers and desktop computers.
  • Exercises knowledge of network protocols and computer operating systems and proficiency with Windows environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Enterprise administrator
  • Certified MCSE with focus on Exchange Server 2010/2013/2016, Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 2013/2016
  • Experience producing System Development Lifecycle documentation using CMMI-Services and or IEEE/IEC standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field and or at least 10 years of technical experience supporting an enterprise computing environment.
  • Experience with Puppet, NTP, SSL Certificates, Scripting, STIG Security, CAS benchmarks, and SAN
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting, resolving complex network problems, maintaining WAN/LAN, and leading application migration efforts.
  • Top Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with virtualization environments such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • ITIL Certification
  • Experience with Enterprise Level Administration of Windows Server 2003 or higher and Exchange 2010 or higher and Internet Information Services 7.0 or higher.

Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.

To a reduced degree, <30% of the time, candidates may have to stand, walk, lift 0-30 pounds, push or pull objects, climb stairs, bend, squat, reach, drive a car, or work overtime.
