Banker I, (Technology Venture Banking)

Overview

The incumbent supports business development efforts (Originations) by analyzing, underwriting new venture banking team lending opportunities and assisting in structuring and closing of new loans as well as transitioning loans to Portfolio Management. This role will work closely with senior Bankers on new transactions. They will also be a key part of business development efforts by attending market events and cultivating their own personal network in the venture banking team ecosystem. There is a focus on credit analysis , credit application preparation and coordination with Portfolio Management.

Responsibilities

• Reach out to prospects to set meeting for banker when needed (usually on deals banker has no connectivity or small firms banker is not generally not focused on).
• Diligence (review sub docs, confirm service providers, LPs, etc.).
• Join all calls with prospect from start to be up to speed on firm and deal.
• Attend/organize local events to build network with LPs/GPs and/or service providers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Coordinate demo with GTM if needed.
• Manage pitch meeting scheduling and follow up (largely sending marketing collateral after meetings) where needed.
• Prepare any needed change memos and portfolio duties to ensure efficient transition (if applicable).
• Work with GTM and client services to close deposit only opportunities.
• Prepare term sheet with guidance of banker/CM.
• Work with prospect on borrowing kit and determine advance needed at close.
• Aggregate and review all fund documents required for term sheet/credit underwriting memo.
• Review LinkedIn, Axios, Pitchbook data and other resources to build targeted lead list.
• Engage appropriate CM.
• Prepare credit underwriting memo.
• Work with Client Services/Prospect to ensure relevant bank accounts set up.
• Work with CM/loan closing/prospect to ensure all needed diligence and closing docs have been received.

Required

Qualifications

• Proven ability to underwrite well and independently
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Venture Banking Portfolio Analyst or comparable experience at a financial institution, venture capital/private equity firm, business development, or in public accounting
• Accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizational skills
• Willingness to go above and beyond
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Responsiveness, passion for excellent customer service
• Team orientation
• Excellent knowledge of Venture Bank compliance systems

Preferred

• Master’s degree or higher

Physical Requirements

• Constant use of a computer or other office equipment resulting in repeating motions of the hands and wrists.
• Light work that may include moving objects up to 20 pounds.
• Role requires sitting or standing in front of a computer monitor for prolonged periods of time in a fixed neck position.

Rewards

National Base Pay Range (annual): $65,187.20 to $127,142.08

Final salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with geographic/market data.
