Position Summary:

This position includes instruction of high school students in grades 10-12 in the areas of Welding Technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Welding instructor's responsibilities includes: instruction of high school students in areas of thermal cutting, TIG, MIG , and ARC welding, blueprint reading, NCCER and AWS certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of the welding industry
Knowledge of Career and Tech Education
Strong interpersonal skills with diverse populations
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Enjoy working with, and be able to relate to high school aged students
Ability to work in a team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree within the area of instruction, two years’ documented work experience in the field -OR- 4 years work experience in welding industry, certifications as applicable. Must be able to pass NOCTI exams/qualifications, ability/willingness to become certified through specific training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in related field of study, two or more years work experience in educational institution setting.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

This position reports to Arkansas Tech Career Center in Russellville, Arkansas under the direction of the ATCC Director and ATU Ozark Campus.
Requires ability to stand for long periods of time, lift more than 25 pounds on occasion, and operate machinery in a lab setting.
