JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager manages projects through the entire project life cycle including but not limited to design and development of new products, revisions to standard products, projects in customer care, sales and marketing projects, quality improvement projects, product obsolescence, projects to change internal processes, and other duties as required. The individual will work with, consult with, and/or direct the staff across departments (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Shipping, and Sales & Marketing) regarding product requirements, specifications, testing protocol, and project execution. This individual will interface regularly with customers to ensure alignment on project/product requirements and drive all customer related activity in collaboration with Sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Management: Oversee assigned projects from concept to completion. Lead, coordinate, and track all activities of the cross functional team to meet key milestones and solve project roadblocks to drive project execution, while maintaining timeline and budget. Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly status reports and updates. Basic Product Management functions as required – customer forecasting, pricing negotiations, etc. as required by VP / GM and Product Manager.
· Marketing: Responsible for product launch (coordinating the marketing activity with the Product Management/Marketing team). Contribute to the development of new product opportunities and/or development of new market opportunities – from an ideation and voice of the customer standpoint. Develop a business case for project(s) to present for leadership approval, including Toll Gate updates.
· Planning and Implementation: Formulates market plans, reports, and recommendations for management approval and implementation; based on customer interfacing and voice of the customer activities needed for project definition and customer on-boarding. Implement new program management tools to bring products/services into the market faster. Works with supply chain and operations teams to qualify new components and ensure adequate supply of components for production orders based on customer demand.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
- Problem solver with good business acumen.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal); communicate and work cooperatively both within and outside the company; make oral and written presentations; strong technical aptitude
- Project management principles in line with a gated New Product Development process and/or SCRUM Agile project management principles; PMI certification is a plus.
- Two to four (1-4) years of professional, technical and design-development engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Industrial market / customers experience is a plus.
- Industrial marketing and sales principles – developing and launching new products; marketing research including interviewing and market surveying methods and techniques;
- Self-starter and ability to lead cross functional teams; motivate teams to meet project objectives;
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), CRM software, database management;
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Equivalent Industry Experience
- Customer interfacing and VOC experience;
Compensation
- Salary range: $90,000 to $112,300.. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs”
