Job Description

Join our Macquarie Risk Management team as a commercially minded and dynamic Workplace Health Safety (WHS) professional.

As a regional lead, you will be responsible for embedding our Global WHS Policy and strategy across Macquarie’s operations and investments in the Americas, ensuring we have systems in place to effectively identify, assess and control material WHS risks and to support Macquarie’s strong risk culture and continual WHS performance improvement.

Reporting directly to the Global WHS Director - Risk Management Group, you will be working closely with risk stakeholders, business groups and transaction teams to provide ongoing expert advice on WHS matters for new transactions and WHS governance on existing asset management. You will also provide oversight on the implementation of the Macquarie Global WHS policy in the region. Staying on top of key regulatory developments and compliance matters within the region and keeping pace with industry benchmarking and best practice.

You will show leadership around WHS to help deepen ownership and accountability within the different business groups in the Americas. Working with colleagues globally you will also strengthen existing processes and introduce enhancements as required to bring practices to a consistent groupwide level.

With a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, you will have a minimum of 10 years proven experience as a Workplace Health Safety professional in either an internal or external advisory capacity or as part of a broader operations role with exposure to infrastructure and renewables. You would also be required to have proven experience succeeding in a complex stakeholder environment, with strong relationship building and influencing skills and the ability to drive change. You will ideally have experience of implementing Health and Safety management systems, working with teams during development, construction and operations phases of projects.
