About A&M

Companies, investors and government entities around the world turn to Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) for leadership, action and results. Privately held since its founding in 1983, A&M is a leading global professional services firm that provides advisory, business performance improvement and turnaround management services. When conventional approaches are not enough to create transformation and drive change, clients seek our deep expertise and ability to deliver practical solutions to their unique problems.

With over 7,000 people across four continents, we deliver tangible results for corporates, boards, private equity firms, law firms and government agencies facing complex challenges. Our senior leaders, and their teams, leverage A&M’s restructuring heritage to help companies act decisively, catapult growth and accelerate results. We are experienced operators, world-class consultants, former regulators and industry authorities with a shared commitment to telling clients what’s really needed for turning change into a strategic business asset, managing risk and unlocking value at every stage of growth.

Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory (CMAA)

Our Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory practice partners with management and the company’s finance organization to address challenges they face in today’s evolving accounting and reporting environment. What will you be doing?

  • Experience with revenue recognition, purchase accounting and lease accounting a plus.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls with other A&M teams, client personnel, serving as a point of contact for client personnel for day-to-day execution of advisory services
  • Effectively research accounting and reporting guidance and apply professional judgement to meet engagement expectations, including identification and application of relevant U.S. GAAP and related interpretive guidance, IFRS and SEC rules and regulations
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for live sessions and webcasts to be provided to A&M personnel and clients
  • Advise clients on a wide range of complex technical accounting and financial reporting matters, including the implementation of accounting standards, development of accounting position papers and assistance in IPOs and other capital markets transactions

Who will you be working with?

This includes performance-based career progression and promotion process, high quality practice-wide training programs, a global mobility program, rotation opportunities in other practice areas, employee resource groups, and a health and wellness program. • The ideal candidate for the Senior Associate position will have at least 2 years of business experience at a Big Four accounting firm with mid-market audit experience across a broad range of industries, preferably with a mix of public and private company clients
