ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES
- Assist in the general oversight of a highly competitive NJCAA intercollegiate athletic department with duties that may include:
o Representing the athletic program to the College’s internal and external constituencies.
o Participating actively in development, marketing, public relations, and fundraising.
o Assisting in home event game management.
o Actively participating in all college activities which lead to the recruitment, retention and completion of students.
o Creation and oversight of department and team budgets and facilitation of purchasing processes.
o Involvement in completion of student-athlete paperwork including eligibility and scholarship paperwork.
o Oversight and organization of special events in athletic department.
o Updating daily the athletic department web page, NJCAA national website, and appropriate social media sites.
o Performing other duties as assigned by the Director, Intercollegiate Athletics.
o Ensuring compliance with all NJCAA policies and state and federal laws.

- Excellent oral and written communication, human relation, organizational, interpersonal and administration skills essential.
- Must be able to be independent, respect confidentiality, problem solving, and maintain courtesy in dealing with students, faculty, staff and visitors.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Must be committed to affirmative action, gender equity, and the academic success of the student-athletes
- Must have a desire and commitment to support the mission of the college.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Masters Degree in Sport Management, Education Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
- Three to five years experience working in intercollegiate athletics.
- Working knowledge of NJCAA rules.
EXPECTATIONS
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Will have contact – in person, by email, or by phone – with staff, students, and the general public.
- Must exhibit a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.
- Ability to work nights and weekends and flexible hours as necessary.
Travel
Must have and maintain a current valid Texas driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
