Assistant Professor, Adult Gerontology Primary Care

The University of Maryland School of Nursing Adult Gerontology Primary Care program is currently recruiting for a full time faculty member to participate in the didactic and clinical education of Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner students enrolled in a Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. UMSON enrolls more than 1,900 students in its baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in the biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. • Primary Responsibilities:*
• Advise and mentor students in their academic progression and with their Doctor of Nursing Practice projects
• Contribute to faculty governance
• Conduct site visits
• Provide service to the School, university, and profession The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, or DNP). Current license to practice in the State of Maryland is required. Teaching experience is preferred and advanced practice clinical experience is required. Certification as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Gerontological Nurse Practitioner is required.
