Assistant Principal Virtual Academy

The State College Area School District is currently accepting applications for a 0.5 FTE Assistant Principal position for the K-12 State College Virtual Academy (12-month/year). The Assistant Principal's responsibilities include:

• Oversee the operations of the Virtual Academy K-12, including the 6-12 summer program
• Student management including enforcing school policies and guidelines
• Work collaboratively with the IT Department to support student enrollment and technology needs
• Promote and market the Virtual Academy, including recruiting students currently attending other Cyber Schools
• Supervise and evaluate Virtual Academy staff and teachers
• Communicate with the parents/guardians/students who are enrolled in the program
• Support School Counselors and Intervention Teachers who are involved with meeting the needs of VA students
• Other administrative responsibilities such as student attendance, teacher training sessions, and coordinating teacher assignments

The ability to establish relationships with students and collaborate with colleagues is critical for success in this position. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to recognize equity and inclusivity as foundations to prepare each student for lifelong success. PA School Leadership/Principalship certification and a valid PA teaching certificate is required. The position will remain open until a candidate is selected - applications will be reviewed beginning August 14, 2023.
