Job Description
Role: Assistant General Manager
Pay: $58,500 annually

Kitchen United is looking for an ambitious and service oriented Assistant General Manager to act as the deputy and right hand to the General Manager for one of our Kitchen Centers. Both when the General Manager is present and especially when the General Manager isn’t present, you’ll be responsible for managing your team and the Kitchen Center, extending out the principles of excellent service to between 10-15 restaurant brands all operating under one roof. Similarly, you’ll be interacting with Delivery Service Provider drivers, guests that visit our front of house and vendors that help keep your center running smoothly. It’s an important role and one which demands a lot of strong leadership qualities and operational expertise. Your top 3 priorities are as follows:
  • Determine necessary work to deliver operational excellence
  • Use discretion and independent judgment to support your General Manager
  • Direct your Team members to provide memorable experiences for your guests, teams, and members
In this role, you will be:
Operations (30%)
  • Coordinating and managing all activity associated with the operational objectives of each Kitchen Center
  • Owning service in your center and training, coaching and mentoring your team to provide best in class service at all times.
  • Overseeing weekly inventory and ordering of cleaning and operating supplies and confirming amounts and types of materials, supplies, and machinery to be used when necessary.
  • Addressing guest, and restaurant partner concerns and issues in real time.
  • Establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures;
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy environment by:
  • By reinforcing Department of Health and Labor law regulations
  • Fostering great relationships and assisting with restaurant partners, 3rd party delivery drivers, vendors and being a key part of our member services team providing excellent support to our member “partners”.
  • Enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Complying with legal regulations; developing and implementing disaster plans;
Supervisory (70%)
  • Assisting with training, coaching and delegating and apportioning work to your team to meet the highest of standards in service, cleanliness, food safety and task completion while providing clear direction & support to deliver them.
  • Assisting General Manager in the performance management process. Including but not limited to: disciplining employees in accordance with Kitchen United’s work expectations policy and administering disciplinary action, including termination, as appropriate.
  • Addressing employee, guest, and restaurant partner concerns and issues in real time.
  • Inputting emergency work orders when needed to rectify facilities issues in real time.
  • Providing input and creating a weekly staff schedule and managing shift changes, sick calls, over time etc.
  • Motivating your team to understand their role and team culture that we live & breathe while incentivizing and rewarding the best performers for outstanding contribution.
  • Supporting the development of the team by leading through example and coaching the values and traits that we seek in all of our excellent Kitchen United employees.
  • Participating in recruiting, interviewing, selecting and onboarding new employees.
Requirements
  • An Excellent customer service mindset.
  • Leadership skills including people management, motivation, and conflict resolution.
  • Directing and disciplining employees by applying Company policy and guidelines.
  • High energy level, calm under pressure and comfortable with consistently multi-tasking.
  • Providing for the safety of employees and property.
  • Experience directing and controlling the flow of materials and inventory.
  • Worked in a B2B/ B2C environment – e.g., franchising, shared workplace, retail
  • Comfort using technology, interpreting data, communicating with a cross-functional team.
  • Strength of character and charisma to handle difficult conversations & implement plans to support Kitchen Center and employee goals while addressing issue resolutions quickly & effectively.
  • A process-oriented approach with a keen eye for detail.
  • Successfully supervised food service operational teams for at least 1-3 years.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation & communication skills (both verbal & written).
