Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director, Compliance Investigation, will complete complex regulatory compliance and HIPAA privacy investigations. This position will report directly to the Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer and will sit within the Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office.


Job Duties:

  • Responds to Compliance and HIPAA privacy related complaints or reports of non-compliance.
  • Responsible for initial review of reports and preparatory work to conduct a timely, thorough and accurate investigation.
  • Conduct investigations related to Compliance and HIPAA privacy complaints or reports of non-compliance.
  • Conduct interviews of staff and management to establish relevant facts.
  • Maintains effective interface with employees and management.
  • Analyzes records, systems and processes and conducts internal audits of the organization's practices to identify possible violations.
  • Develops written investigative reviews of work performed, including findings and recommendations.
  • Identifies and addresses any systemic problems relating to complaints with the appropriate resources.
  • Compiles and submits reports as required by UT System.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelors degree in business, or related field is required.


Experience:

Five (5) to Seven (7) years of related experience in conducting investigations for compliance and healthcare compliance related matters, HIPAA privacy violations, and retaliation claims.


Preferred:

Graduate-level degree (MPH, MHA, MBA, JD) or equivalent is preferred.

Legal experience.
