Assistant Controller, Rockwall (130K-140K+Bonus)

LHH is working with a company in the utility space that is adding an Assistant Controller to their team. In this role you will be responsible for performing and supervising day-to-day accounting activities, generating accurate posting of entries into the general ledger accounting system, preparing financial statements, accounting and tax reports, and monitoring accounting procedures according to generally accepted accounting principles. This role requires a CPA.

This position pays 130K-140K+Bonus

Job Responsibilities:

· Performs accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures and cooperative borrower requirements, maintaining all records in accordance with established retention guidelines and submitting all financial and statistical reports as required.

· As required, reviews cash disbursements for payment approval and appropriate support

· Provides day-to-day support and is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to current accounting software functionality for general ledger, project accounting, billing and receivables, inventory, etc.

· Supervises Accountant and provides back-up for processing and posting of AP/AR invoices with proper approvals, including verification of accuracy of invoices.

· Supervises and provides back-up for processing employee payroll through current accounting software.

· Posts month-end entries and reviews month-end entries of the Accountant.

· Performs year-end audit support.

· Reconciles bank accounts as needed.

· Performs and reviews general ledger account reconciliations.

· Prepares financial and month-end reports including, month-end reporting for combined Members financial statements.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

· CPA required

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience

· Utility experience will be a big advantage

· Netsuite experience a plus
