Pay Range: $140000 - 148000 / year

Position Summary
Supports the Controller in all areas including corporate reporting, financial planning and analysis, taxation, and budget preparation/forecasting. Ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and that internal policies and controls are followed.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepares internal reports and works on special projects as requested
  • Manages and assists with financial audits
  • Assists with hiring, training, and managing staff
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements
  • Supervises accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Substantiates and justifies expenditures and expense reports
  • Assists with the preparation of financial analyses, outlooks, and forecasts
  • Audits workflow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
  • Prepares financial statements
  • Works with department managers and corporate staff to develop budgets and business plans
  • Supervises and/or prepares monthly journal entries
  • Manages and reviews monthly closing process
  • Manages accounting procedures and ensures compliance with internal controls including Company policies, GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Supervises and/or prepares general ledger reconciliations


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills
  • A minimum of 4 years senior-level finance or accounting experience, construction industry experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes
  • Ability to effectively train and manage staff
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
  • Ability to perform with a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; Master’s Degree and CPA preferred


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Frequently sits for long periods of time
  • May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
  • Frequently speaks, reads, writes and uses a computer keyboard
  • Works in an office environment
