Administrative Assistant-Retail Buying
If you have experience as an administrative assistant within a retail or purchasing environment, buying, re-buying, or purchasing, or retail management experience with buying or re-buying at the store level, let's speak.
Our client is a privately held customer centric regional specialty home and office furnitureretailerseeking anBuyer and Administrative Assistantto work directly with President and CFO related to buying, store, and customer support.
You will support ownership in buying/maintaining inventory for resale as well administrative duties in support of the buying function and store sales and operations.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to operate independently and within groups including vendors, store management, and senior leadership.
You will be able to take appropriate business decisions and have an internal governor that dictates when leadership assistance should be sought or is desirable. Ability to work with senior leadership on a daily basis is essential.
You will work with ownership in initial buys and rebuying to meet inventory and special-order
needs as well as maintain inventory records, level, and requirements.
Additionally, you will provide administrative and organizational support.
Specific Responsibilities include:
1. Participate in development of inventory plans and initial buys.
2. Initiate and place rebuys and special orders.
3. Communicate with Vendors, track orders.
4. Process, vendor discounts, rebates, etc.
5. Track ecommerce orders.
6. Attend annual franchisee convention.
7. Maintain positive vendor relationship.
8. Maintain Excel Spread sheets.
9. Assist in development of inventory mix.
10. Work with Store Managers in maintaining inventory levels and mix.
11. Analyze sales trends, key products, price points, vendor and category profitability.
12. Organize Meetings
13. Maintain corp./store communication.
14. Communicate with customers/vendors.
15. Resolve customer and vendor problems.
You will bring:
Prefer 2 years experience in an Administrative Assistant role with exposure to inventory or Asst./Assoc. Buyer, Category Manager or Purchasingwithin a retail environment.
Demonstrated ability to employ independent business judgement and work successfully with customers, vendors and within the organization up and down the management structure.
An understanding of retail math and good working knowledge of Excel, Word and POS System.
Other:
There is occasional domestic travel with this position.
This position reports directly to ownership. Compensation consists of a competitive base salary plus monthly bonus, and off-rush hour working hours with benefit package,
