We are looking for a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer (SE) to overcome and remove all technical barriers in the sales process. You will work with an Account Manager to develop new business working directly with customers and partners. The Pre-Sales SE role will require you to act as a trusted technical advisor who can effectively position the Aruba EdgeConnect Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) portfolio including Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Security Service Edge (SSE). You will be located in New York City Metro area.
How you'll make your mark:
- You will provide prompt feedback to and be ready to aid product management and engineering on future direction of the product
- You will architect, install and configure the Aruba SASE virtual and hardware appliances into customer environments for proof-of-concept and production deployments
- You will travel to trade shows, marketing events and HPE/Aruba headquarters
- You’ll deliver pre-sales presentations and demonstrations to customers and partners
- You will support sales efforts through on-site meetings, group presentations and marketing activities
- You’ll own the technical relationship with customers, partners and resellers through technical training, problem escalation and new feature requests
- You will sell to and persuade technical personnel at large enterprises on the value of SASE - Aruba SD-WAN (Silver Peak) and Aruba SSE (Axis Security)
- You will manage and own all technical aspects of the sales cycle
- You’ll maintain a strong market awareness and knowledge of competitive technologies to best position Silver Peak and Axis Security
- You’ll participate in discussion with marketing and engineering teams on new product introduction and provide feedback
You will have:
- Recent experience using the CLI on major router and switch vendors
- Technical certifications are a plus (e.g. VCP, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, JNCP)
- The ability to present to a large audience or group of people
- Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Word), Microsoft Windows, Apple OS X, Linux operating system experience
- Experience with network security - Firewalls, IPSEC, SSL-VPN, NAT, GRE
- Experience using routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Experience working with VLANs and IP subnetting
- The internal drive and positive attitude to go above and beyond whenever necessary to compete and win business
- The ability to present to an audience of mixed roles and technical abilities within an organization
- The ability to occasionally work nights and weekends around customer schedules
- The ability to demonstrate a knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S)
- An understanding of identity and access technologies - SSO, SAML Federated Identity, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC, Authentication
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms - AWS, Azure, GCP
- Troubleshooting skills that include hands-on experience with the configuration of networking gear
- A BSCS degree and or 4+ years of experience as a pre-sales Systems/Sales Engineer
- You’re a team player willing to help out peers and other teams within the company
