What does a Manager, Area (Warehouse) do at Rinnai?
This position is responsible for the leadership of all warehouse operations across multiple Georgia locations. Additionally, this position is responsible for meeting all site goals related to Safety, Quality, People, Service, Cost and Housekeeping Excellence. The Area Manager will review operations on a daily basis to ensure attainment of established goals for the Warehouse, Division and Company. This position will support site Safety and Compliance efforts through continuous improvement activities that ensure all requirements are completed in a timely manner.
- This position is located at 500 The Lakes Parkway in Griffin, GA.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Ensure JSOX compliance.
- Coach, train, manage and motivate warehouse leaders and teams.
- Plan and direct warehouse activities and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
- Various projects as requested.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required
- Responsible for ensuring proper staffing of warehouses.
- Routine administrative/managerial functions, performing annual performance reviews, actively participate in budget planning and fill in for supervisors as needed.
- Responsible for quality control within the warehouse area of responsibility.
- Awareness and compliance of Company Policies and Procedures.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly team meetings.
- Oversee inventory cycle counting and annual physical inventory.
- Support warehouse safety initiatives to ensure all work is being performed in a safe manner. Ensure continuous safety improvement in culture, programs, and activities.
- Drive accountability, establish priorities, and monitor and evaluate results.
- Analyze warehouse capacity and recommend improvement strategies.
- Embrace and support growing business demands in a changing environment.
- Develop and revise operational and work procedures and resolve operational and warehouse problems to fulfill shipping requirements and achieve site objectives for safety, efficiency, productivity, quality, and service.
- Develop and resource teams throughout the warehouse environment that are consistent with warehouse goals.
- Plan and direct activities of warehouse operations ensuring clean, well-organized environment demonstrating 5S principles.
- Communicate goals with team and engage associates in continually improving every aspect of the portion of the business within their responsibility.
- Ensure warehouse activities for team utilization, inbound receiving and inspections, inventory management and control, shipping, are executed and completed achieving department and company goals.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE
- Previous experience with Safety systems and enforcement of Safety rules and policies
- Five years of warehouse, operations experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience with ISO 9000 Quality System.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- Certification as Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Basic financial acumen to understand financial impact of decisions on the operation.
- At least three years of previous management experience.
- Formal training and/or experience with continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing.
- Experienced with systems (WMS, ERP)
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with inventory, receiving and shipping.
Skills
- Computer literacy to include but not limited to MS Office products.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work hands-on in an industrial manufacturing environment, as well as in a corporate environment

- Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds
Environmental Conditions
- Must be able to wear required PPE on manufacturing floor.
