Summary of Job Duties:
Management-Non Clinical APP Coordinator Role-
Supervises minimal of 5 APPs in clinical setting. Creates and maintains a strategic plan for the APPs within their department. Evaluates the needs for additional APPs on an ongoing basis to keep up with increasing clinical and non-clinical needs for the service. Responsible for coordinating all credentialing and licensing of new APPs within the department including re-credentialing, DEA, and license renewal as deemed necessary. Maintains open communication with team in regards to APPs. Facilitates ongoing APP education and research (QI) projects. Participates in departmental committee work as deemed appropriate. Responsible for creating/maintaining the clinical/non-clinical schedule. Assists with new hire interviews, annual evaluations, employee counseling, mentoring and upkeep of APP files (licensure, certification, TB skin tests, DEA/NPI/Medicaid numbers, BLS/PALs). Assist with computer support as needed. Discuss issues with the section chief, Director of Advanced Practice and other upper administration as deemed necessary.
Clinical Care-
Provide direct clinical services or consultation for patients according to established protocols and utilizing evidence based clinical practice standards in collaboration with a physician. Obtain patient health histories, complete physical examinations, and interpret hemodynamic data. Document pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Formulate and implement treatment plan for management of acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with the physician. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds as deemed appropriate. Document in medical records appropriately. Provide family centered care to meet the child’s health care needs. Utilize current research and evidence based decision making in all clinical practice.
Education, Professionalism, Interpersonal relations, leadership, and research-
Participate in staff education, educate other APRN/PA students, resident and/or fellows. Provide leadership and professional interaction within your team or to team members. Coordinate with families the care and progress of their child in person, telephone, or email as appropriate. Communicate with others with a mutual respect and professional demeanor. Adhere to all standard policies and procedures. Participate in QI or research projects as deemed necessary by your department.

Qualifications:
Education:
APRN-graduated from an accredited nursing program with at least a Master’s in Nursing
PA- graduated from an accredited physician assistant program defined by the Arkansas State Medical board
Licenses/certifications:
APRN- National Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the specialty of Acute or Primary Care. May have a certification as a Pediatric Nurse practitioner in either acute or primary care although primary care preferred.
PA-Current Arkansas Physician Assistant license
