Who Do We Want?
Becht is seeking an Instrument/Electrical Technician who is looking to take the next step in their career by joining our world-class, family-owned engineering organization.

Becht is seeking a technical advisor with 10+ years of experience in field installation, installation oversight, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience in the Power Generation and/or Petrochemical industries to join our Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Division.

This position requires an understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems including direct measurement elements, PLC controllers, electrical distribution systems, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), Distributed Control System (DCS). Turnaround experience while not required will be considered a plus. The selected candidate will report to our EIC Division Manager on a remote basis, travel to project sites will be required, and willingness to accept short term assignments (1 – 3 months) is desirable. The successful candidate will be hired on a project-by-project basis.

Your Knowledge and Expertise:

• Equipment/systems reliability improvement including development and implementation of PM programs
• Controllers
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, loop diagrams, P&ID drawings, electric drawings, logic diagrams, and connection drawings.
• 10+ years of experience as a technician
• Troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of Low and Medium Voltage in-plant electrical distribution systems (460V – 36kV) including substations, transformers, circuit breakers, cabling, feeders, protective relaying, and MCC’s.
• Valves (control valves, pressure regulating valves, shutdown valves, motor operated valves)
• Transmitters pressure, flow, level, and temperature
• Programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Installation, calibration, maintenance, loop checking, troubleshooting, and fault finding for equipment supplied by major recognized OEMs:
  • Transmitters pressure, flow, level, and temperature
  • Valves (control valves, pressure regulating valves, shutdown valves, motor operated valves)
  • Controllers
  • Smart valve positioners
  • Vibration equipment
  • Sensors and analyzers (H2S, O2, SO2, CO2, H2)
  • Programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
• Smart valve positioners
• Sensors and analyzers (H2S, O2, SO2, CO2, H2)
• Vibration equipment
• Instrumentation & Control System power supplies, grounding/bonding requirements, and UPS systems
