Job Description
The admissions recruiter is responsible for first-year recruitment for Wright State University serving as primary recruitment contact in a defined area for the recruitment of prospective students. The recruiter advises and counsels students from defined local area about Wright State admission, policy, procedures, and programs of study.

The admissions recruiter plays an integral role on the admissions team providing excellent customer service and serving as a single point of contact for a wide variety of constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary school personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. The admissions recruiter coordinates and contributes to the success of initiatives designed to identify, attract, admit, and enroll students at Wright State.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of work experience in Marketing/Sales/Admissions, one of those years working with college, high school or middle school students and can include pertinent experience earned prior to degree completion
  • Bachelor’s degree (conferred by date of hire)
  • Computer skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience working with diverse populations, strong interpersonal, public speaking and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Some work experience at a college or university
Essential Functions and percent of time:
Represent Wright State in the community
(40%)
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with school counselors and other appropriate staff in high schools
  • Manage recruitment territory
  • Visit high schools and represent Wright State at college fairs other community events.


Engage with prospective students (30%)
  • Conduct presentations
  • Correspond with prospective students via letters, telephone calls, email, texting and face to face appointments
  • Application Review
  • Provide admission counseling to prospective students
  • Leverage CRM to manage territory and student connections

Coordinate recruitment activities or programs as assigned (10%)

Respond to requests for information from prospective students, parents and others (10%)

Perform other duties as assigned (10%)
