Job Description

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal office administrative support position, performing various administrative, personnel management, and data systems technical support for the Commander and Civilian Advisor. Responsibilities Responsible for office automation support and personnel functions, Lead squadron and detachment administrative and personnel management support assistant and unit automation information systems and office support.unit automation information systems and office support. Performs various project financial costs estimates, projections and budgetary functions. Researches, complies and prepares standard and non-standard program and technical information and financial information relating to program progress status from source documents, files and reports. Provides assistance to the program manager and Flight Commander in gathering data for program documentation to include milestone review documentation, acquisition strategy plans, program management plans, etc. Requirements planner and program scheduler. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of and ability to apply an extensive body of test programs support and management procedures rules, guidelines, and precedents, personnel liaison support, and data gathering methods to a wide range of situations in evaluating administrative operations, advise, brief management, performing duties such as planning the steps to take to complete assignments. Identifying problems from collected data and selecting solutions from alternative in guidelines, prepare costs estimates and financial reports. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:


  • Knowledge of an extensive body of test program support and management procedures, rules, guidelines, and precedents, and DoD and Air Force administrative and personnel instructions.
  • Ability to analyze, verify, and correlate data, and locate, assemble, and compose information for reports and technical correspondence.
  • Knowledge of basic quality improvement team building skills and process improvement techniques to assist in the implementation and training of quality improvement programs.
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and compile financial and personnel data products.
  • Knowledge of various office automation information systems and software programs, tools, and techniques to support program requirements and produce a variety of documents such as reports, spreadsheets, charts and graphs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a wide variety of audiences. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
