    At UConn Health, this class is accountable for independently providing administrative management and/or advanced technical program support for the 340B Program while working within the multiple covered entities. This position will work in the inpatient pharmacy at the UConn Health John Dempsey Hospital located in Farmington, CT.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

    • Six (6) years relevant administrative experience

    GENERAL EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION ALLOWED:

    • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience may substitute to the general experience

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience with financial duties pertaining to accounts payable and receivable
    • Experience with healthcare and procurement software systems (i.e.HuskyBuy, EPIC)
    • Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB)
    • Knowledge of pharmacology terminology, pharmacy operational practices and medication and dosage measurements

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

    ADMINISTRATIVE/FISCAL:

    • Use of complex spreadsheet programs.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of 340B regulations and professional standards by keeping appropriate records of qualified dispenses.
    • Take on 340B related committee responsibilities such as serve as the Secretary on 340B Oversight Committee.
    • Extracts and downloads 340B profitability reports and projections from Third Party Administrator, vendors and other software systems within 340B program.
    • Assemble 340B data, write and/or edit reports, requiring knowledge of subject area.
    • Compose letters, memos, emails, etc. for manager signature to drug manufacturers and other 340B stakeholders (I.e. vendors).
    • Assists with Indigent drug supply programs and reimbursement.
    • Reconcile monthly reports from all contract pharmacies.
    • Compile and maintain a collection of resource materials and program information.
    • Formats and types a full range of correspondence, reports, bills, drafts, etc. proofread and edit for content.
    • Formulates 340B annual report and monthly program dashboard.
    • Manages virtual inventory purchases/invoicing of 340B contract pharmacy through 340B software program.
    • Use Microsoft Office Software such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, Access, Power Point,
    • Prepare travel authorization forms and books necessary arrangements.
    • Manage the invoice and payment process with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), wholesalers, and contract pharmacies
    • Assist in the preparation of the 340B program budgets, monitor program expenditures and conveys spending trends.
    • Arrange and coordinate meetings and functions including space and equipment.
    • Oversee aspects of the HRSA 340B Programs such as Disproportionate Share Hospital, Hemophelia Treatment Center and Ryan White 340B Grant.
    • Organize and maintain a filing system to support the program/department, including fiscal, personnel and other records.
    • Use various computer software system including but not limited to Macro Helix, Wellpartner, Walgreens, Verity and/or other programs as needed to support the 340B program.
    • Conduct reviews of 340B contract pharmacy prescription refills for qualification, HRSA registration information, 340B accumulation quantities, and report findings in written format.

    NETWORKING/INTERPERSONAL:

    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Participates in staff meetings.
    • Liaison with contract pharmacies and TPAs on new contract and establish purchase orders
    • Connecting with all appropriate staff in order to coordinate logistics for all matters involving 340B Program
    • Reconcile invoices and facilitates execution of payment.
    • Works on special assignments
    • Reflects philosophy, core values and mission statement of hospital
    • Organize and implement education sessions for 340B Program staff
    • Review Ryan White and other Program's patient lists as applicable

    SCHEDULE: Full time, 40 hours per week, primarily Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, holidays and other shifts as assigned, 30 minute unpaid meal break.
