Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for an Administrative Legal Assistant I to join our team in the Portland office.


This is an entry-level position which is designed to provide assistance to legal assistants and other administrative staff on a task basis. Completion of all provided training programs is mandatory. On a typical day you will:

  • Assist legal assistants and other administrative staff with administrative tasks which may include, attorney time entry, prepare/organize binders, organize files, open new client and new matter files, expense reimbursement
  • Other projects as assigned
  • Attend training classes
  • Communicate clearly with all appropriate team members on project status


Join us if you have:

  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programs and program updates
  • At least one year experience in a professional office preferred
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, service focused environment and to handle stressful situations in calm, composed manner
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to complete projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to accurately type 50+ wpm
  • Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Self-starter with a high degree of attention to detail
  • A highly professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to follow client confidentiality guidelines
