Job Description
Position Summary


Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security


The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Engineering programs. This position is supporting multiple programs; thus, candidates must have the ability to work efficiently and professionally across teams to provide a seamless experience for each. This position works closely with the current Executive Assistants as duties pertain to recommending, interpreting, and/or implementing company and internal administrative policies and procedures. The ideal candidate would not only have strong administrative knowledge and skills, but also enjoy thinking outside the box and identifying creative solutions.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Have Fun While Doing Passionate Work
  • Manage purchasing and storing of engineering specifications and other reference documents
  • Maintain files and databases for tracking progress on projects within the department
  • Coordinate and arrange meetings, prepare agendas
  • Assist teams with standardization of templates and process documents
  • Promoting our company culture by actively demonstrating the principals of our Culture Pillars:

  • Special projects as assigned by department leads
  • Perform general office support duties such as filing, faxing and copying
  • Prepare and code expense reports, compile all supporting documentation

  • Compose, process, and/or edit Word/Excel Documents and correspondence as requested
  • Support budgets and actual costs reconciliation activities as required
  • Be Accountable
  • Generate presentation materials and other documentation for the group
  • Process, edit, and push workflows within our document publishing platform (Jira)
  • Support document uploads within SharePoint
  • Occasional requirement for weekend availability and start and stop times outside of normal business hours


Qualifications


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated high level of confidentiality, independent judgment, tact and diplomacy
  • Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and equipment
  • Supportive of department managers, leads and co-workers, and to build solid inter and intra-team relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Very strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work with a large team of diverse individuals


Required Computer Skills


  • Proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Concur (SAP) and SharePoint is a plus!
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)


Education & Experience


  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and 5+ years relevant experience, OR, or equivalent combination of education and experience with increasing responsibility
  • Strong experience supporting at the executive level

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles. Theme parks are in abundance, with Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disneyland, and Knotts Berry Farm ready to meet the needs of rollercoaster thrill seekers.


Food and drink fanatics are in a haven of delectable choices. Wine aficionados will also find easy access to some of the state’s best vino in Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and even more locally in Tehachapi and Agua Dulce. Beer fanatics will find some of the best West Coast IPAs at Bravery and Lucky Luke’s in Lancaster. Any food option you crave is covered, and we always recommend the authentic and fresh Mexican food that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States.
