The Hyde Park Day School (HPDS) is the premier school for bright students with learning disabilities in the Chicago metropolitan area. The HPDS has an exciting, full-time Administrative Assistant position available at the Chicago Campus. This position works Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm. Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support and implements administrative systems and procedures. Answers, screens and transfers inbound calls. Receives and directs staff, participants and visitors. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Maintains workflow by implementing cost reductions; and developing reporting procedures. Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms control, office layout, and budgetary and personnel requirements. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques. Creates and maintains electronic and hard copy filing system and handles requests for information and data. Performs general clerical duties including photocopying, fax and mailing. Resolves administrative problems and inquiries and prepares written responses to routine enquiries. Prepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails. Schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments and travel arrangements. Prepares agendas for meetings and prepares schedules. Records, compiles, transcribes and distributes minutes of meetings.

Education/Experience Minimum Requirements
- Associates Degree with computer software training required.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Sensitivity for working with socially and emotionally challenged individuals.

- Familiar with Google Docs and Sheets
- Minimum of five years of experience in administrative support, office managerial position.
