Description
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Performs high level of administrative functions in support of the Tribal Council.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Must be able to pass background check, Live Scan and drug test.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a secretary or administrative assistant.
  • Interpret and act appropriately in processing oral and written instructions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Must operate a variety of office equipment including a computer, and assigned software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microix).
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Strong organizational skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other Duties May Be Assigned)
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Answer and screen telephone calls.
  • Administrative functions include, but are not limited to: maintain and create executive filling systems, both electronic and physical.
  • Prepare miscellaneous correspondence and ability to create documents as directed.
  • Occasional support to other internal departments.
  • Open, sort and distribute mail and email, publications, and other correspondence.
  • Book travel arrangements and conference registrations.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize and meet timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
  • Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
  • Works under the supervision of the Executive Assistant to Tribal Council in the performance of all job-related administrative functions.
  • Prepare weekly agendas for Tribal Council meetings.
ACCESS TO SENSITIVE AREAS AND INFORMATION
High Level of confidential information and sensitive documentation.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ miles, climbing, stairs and sitting at a desk/work station for the duration of the shift. Also, may be subjected to a smoke-filled environment.
Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and /or carry otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 25lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
