The Idaho Public Utilities Commission has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Administrative Assistant 1 in Boise on the State of Idaho Chinden Campus located at 11331 W. Chinden Blvd, Building 8.

The Commission regulates investor-owned or privately-owned utilities that provide gas, water, electricity, or some telephone services for profit as well as overseeing the safe operation of railroads and enforces state and federal regulations safeguarding the transportation of hazardous materials by rail.

Summary


The Administrative Assistant 1 will perform a wide variety of administrative support functions; apply detailed program knowledge in developing and/or maintaining program records systems and/or in collecting information, preparing reports and providing liaison between management, other organizational units, and external customers; perform related work.


Example Of Duties


  • Coordinates and schedules fleet services for staff use
  • Manage all incoming calls and directing them to personnel within the Commission
  • Coordinates and schedules hearing and conference rooms; sets up rooms for public hearings and workshops
  • Ensure all information generated in proceedings before the Commission by staff or other parties is completed, compiled, filed and readily available for staff's use or reference
  • Processing deliveries for the commission
  • Serves as a backup for the Tariff Clerk, and Administrative Staff
  • Proof, format and distribute staff comments and requests for production to the appropriate parties to a proceeding in accordance to the service list for the case
  • Provides customer service to staff, parties and stakeholder over the phone, in-person, and via written communication explaining requirements, processes, and procedures
  • Maintain confidential filings, both paper and electronic copies, according to the protective agreement and the Public Utilities Commission retention schedule
  • Manage and meet case deadlines for comment period and production requests/responses
  • Greeting visitors to the Commission office


Minimum Qualifications


Good knowledge of:


  • Office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents and reception;
  • Gathering and compiling data;
  • Balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:


  • Interpreting, applying and explaining complex knowledge
