Job Description

MDCalc is seeking an Ad Ops Manager/Director for the MDCalc Ads business unit. This role is pivotal in the future of our company and helps grow our revenue, as MDCalc continues to support our millions of clinical users worldwide in taking care of hundreds of millions of patients.


As an Ad Ops Manager, you will be responsible for managing the trafficking and delivery of ad campaigns for assigned clients. You will work with product, leadership, and ad salespersons to make sure issues and questions are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. You will also work very closely with client contacts on a regular basis to ensure that insertion orders are clearly understood, creatives are tested and approved, and that all deliverables are being met. In addition, you will also address day-to-day issues and questions from clients and internal personnel and assist with troubleshooting technical issues, ad serving errors, and reporting discrepancies. Other responsibilities include communicating ideas for improving and refining workflow processes for assigned accounts and generally enhancing the foundation of MDCalc’s ad operations.


The responsibilities of this individual include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Document, update, and maintain ad ops policies, performance, and procedures
  • Understand MDCalc’s unique value propositions
  • Work closely with client contacts to track campaign status, identify and troubleshoot delivery issues, and review reporting data for quality assurance to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Implement ad ops tools to address workflow inefficiencies, improve testing, maintain inventories, and automate ad scheduling
  • Address day-to-day issues and questions from clients and internal personnel
  • Work closely with ad sellers to prepare customer facing collateral as part of the pre and post sales efforts
  • Research to aid in the pricing and competitive positioning for products
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed
  • Ensure timely execution of all tasks related to ad operations, including list matching, trafficking, troubleshooting, optimization, and reporting of ad campaigns
  • Manage and coordinate campaign functions by ensuring line items are distributed across all platforms effectively


Skills desired of this individual include, but are not limited to:

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Adept problem solving ability and resourcefulness
  • Experience using ad ops management tools (HubSpot Ad Manager, AdRoll, Adstream, etc.)
  • At least 6-8 years of progressive experience in ad operations and client service (Google AM360 preferred) for an ad publisher
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through
  • Live/work in or near New York City a plus, but remote is possible
  • Ability to research and implement monetization strategies
  • Solid understanding of digital ad space and media buying, especially for healthcare professional targeting and capabilities
  • Great communication skills, both in writing and speaking
