Rea & Associates is looking for an experienced, ambitious, and enthusiastic Accounting Specialist / Bookkeeper to join our Mentor, Ohio public accounting team. This position is responsible for full-charge bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounting and audit support, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
  • Processing of client’s payroll
  • Preparing bank reconciliations
  • Calculating and/or processing payroll tax deposits and payments, as required
  • Identifying potential additional services to benefit current clients
  • Understanding how payroll preparation and monthly transaction entry relates to year-end information
  • Preparing GAAP conversions, when applicable
  • Preparing engagement budgets
  • Reviewing other team members work
  • Assisting principals with client billing
  • Reviewing accounts and calculate retained earnings
  • Assisting clients with accounting, payroll and basic software issues
  • Assisting tax/accounting and audit departments with training/providing annual adjusted client trial balance
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including cash flows for multiple clients and industries
  • Calculating bonus payments and appropriate deductions from bonus checks
Requirements
Required:
  • Knowledge of general accounting concepts
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Word and Excel
Preferred:
  • QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable accounting and bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks
