• Review assigned business unit P&L, providing analysis and potential action items to upper management in order to assist in reaching company targets.
• Plans work schedules, assigns duties, and evaluates work for accuracy and conformance to policies.
• Analyzes financial statements, assisting upper management in timely and informed decision making.
• Assists with preparation of budgeting reports.
• Supports the month-end close process, including the preparation and recording of journal entries, balance sheet review and operating expense analysis.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts while analyzing and resolving discrepancies.
• Oversees and coordinates daily accounting functions.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closes.
• Ensures compliance with GAAP and legal/statutory requirements.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Provide guidance to accounting team members regarding proper accounting treatment of new and/or uncommon transactions, plus define departmental processes and procedures.
• Prepares monthly internal financial reporting package for management and key business unit owners.
• Work directly with auditors, providing audit schedules and requested supporting documentation. Including coordination with the team to ensure timeliness.

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, laws and regulations
• 2-3 years experience with direct reports
• Familiarity with ERP software - AS400 and Infor/Mapics a plus.
• Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent computer skills, MS Excel in particular
• Excellent analytical skills in managing large amounts of data
• 5-10 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting experience preferred
