As an accounting manager on the Channel Development/International Accounting team, you’ll collaborate with teams across Starbucks to support new business initiatives and lead a high-performing team which manages accounting processes for our Channel Development and international retail business. This position is integral to Starbucks success and pioneering efforts within accounting. In addition, the accounting manager will ensure a timely and accurate month end close.


As an accounting manager, you will…


  • Oversee complex areas of accounting – manage accounting processes and provide customers with clear guidance on accounting impacts.
  • Develop partners and build a high performing team – coach and inspire partners to meet business objectives, challenge status quo, and seek continuous improvement. Attract, retain, and develop high performing partners to meet the needs of a growing business and provide ongoing thoughtful development conversations.
  • Innovate and collaborate for continuous process improvement - advise and lead others in the implementation of ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, internal controls, and work processes impacting month-end and quarter-end financial close and reporting.
  • Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
  • Provide inspirational leadership – communicate vision and strategy for the accounting team and create a positive environment, instilling confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results.


We’d Love To Hear From People With


  • Prior management or supervisory experience
  • Communicating effectively in a wide range of formats and settings, including communicating accounting results and topics to finance and business leaders
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Leading an accounting team for a large, multi-national, public company
  • Experience with Blackline modules including accounts, matching and journals modules preferred.
  • Working cross functionally with operations and business teams to implement accounting solutions for new business activities.
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience a plus
  • 5+ years relevant experience in…
