As an accounting manager on the Corporate Accounting team, you’ll collaborate with teams across Starbucks to support new business initiatives and lead a high-performing team which manages the accounting for impactful areas of the organization, including corporate treasury activities (corporate bank activities, investments, derivatives, debt), compensation and benefits (payroll & benefits, bonuses, stock-based compensation), sustainability initiatives, business development, corporate G&A, and other corporate functions.
As an accounting manager, you will…
  • Innovate and collaborate for continuous process improvement - advise and lead others in the implementation of ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, internal controls, and work processes impacting month-end and quarter-end financial close and reporting.
  • Oversee complex areas of accounting – manage accounting processes and provide customers with clear guidance on accounting impacts for topics such as accounting for compensation and new business initiatives. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with US GAAP and Starbucks accounting policies.
  • Provide inspirational leadership – communicate vision and strategy for the accounting team and create a positive environment, instilling confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results.

  • Develop partners and build a high performing team – coach and inspire partners to meet business objectives, challenge status quo, and seek continuous improvement. We’d Love To Hear From People With
  • 5+ years relevant experience in…
  • Developing, interpreting, and implementing accounting policies and processes in a high growth environment, while maintaining a strong internal control environment
  • Experience using an ERP system and business intelligence and reporting tools (such as Hyperion and Oracle) preferred
  • Applying US GAAP to complex business transactions
  • Communicating effectively in a wide range of formats and settings, including writing technical memos and presenting complex accounting topics to finance and business leaders
  • Leading an accounting team for a large, multi-national, public company
  • CPA and/or public accounting experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • SAP experience a plus
